But that's because of jealousy more than anything else. WHERE'S MY RING!!!

:)Vivaciouslb82https://www.blogger.com/profile/08905874103421714914noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31592708.post-70216884466848858772008-06-27T10:48:00.000-05:002008-06-27T10:48:00.000-05:00bitchin' pieceyesterday, our storage container fin...bitchin' piece

yesterday, our storage container finally came. while moving all our belongings into a finished basement room, I noticed we were stacking things in front of a shelf full of videotapes; it hadn't occurred to me to take a look at what they were until then.

Those that I saw were labeled "Libby's 40th: FLORIDA" & "Grandmama's Super 8 Catalog." I got pretty excited at the possibility of being able to watch Elise's Dutch great-grandmother's home movies. It could be really fuckin interesting.

Elise's response: "You have some kind of weird love for other families' banality."

It's true. From immersing myself in other people's families, I learn more about my own and why it blew apart.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31592708.post-50040221969451305082008-05-29T16:20:00.000-05:002008-05-29T16:20:00.000-05:00Wow! I remember how awkward it was when I mentioned it to my father. Kindof throwing it out there, in case he wanted to talk about it, but not really pushing it.

Unfortunately, my mom passed away a week before the marriage was supposed to happen. We had to have a wake instead of a wedding. One of the hardest parts of that day was trying to separately console my father and Steve, while trying to let them keep their respectful distances.

But they're both grown men, and there were bigger things to think about.

I hope that your mom's wedding is awesome, and don't mourn too much for the love lost - there's (almost) always more where that came from.Jackhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11416036567611015890noreply@blogger.com
