Ah, the decline of the academic paper.

So tonight, in order to quell my own poetic fury, I accompanied my outline-writing with a glass or two of wine. It was working really well...

"Both Ajax and Pentheus reach the same fate they planned for their enemies, presenting the strongest female characters the greater grief and real, not divinely inspired, madness of their own."

...until later, when I decided to expand on each bullet point...
"Ajax stabs himself when he would have stabbed Odysseus, Menelaus, and Agamemnon, thereby causing his wife and mother to wail madly and lose their shit."

Perhaps it's time I go to bed.

True story: I am not writing a paper as I write this. It's comforting to know that someone else is so self-consciously screwed by her own procrastination. (Additonally, I dig your paper topic. I saw a production of the Bacchae last year that was really good and just about exploding with gender complexities).

I wish I came up with the topic myself, but in fact it was one of two choices I had, and not as simple as I'd wanted it to be. And possibly the worst paper I have ever written.
